Ofcourse they are not meant to be wasted!

For a foodstuff that is consumed by half the world’s population, in the west, we seem to value it so lightly.

Of all the rice cooked at home , we throw away large portion of them every year. The statistics from other countries aren’t any better.

The Department of Agriculture estimates that about a third of rice bought by consumers is thrown out.

The advice on looking after rice is that it should be cooled as quickly as possible after cooking before storing and also making sure that we make good lovely food from the leftover.
